Social media considerations/issues
The biggest issue I see is the social stratification. Social media are creating bubbles of information and content according to a person profile and interest, and in accord with what she/he is viewing. Therefore, there are many groups living in totally different reality, being shown totally different content. That will create tensions and clashes that transcend to the real life. Especially dangerous when inciting to crime, unrest, abuse and so famous right now, radicalization.
Another issue, which can be also a blessing in disguise, social media somehow remove many people inhibitions and social norms otherwise followed in real life. Therefore, many people are doing a thorough check and pruning in their various circle of friends, learn to keep distance from some, appreciate others more, and also, learning how to manage their own interaction.
The biggest, however, is the issue of youngsters and kids on social media. That topic is frankly bottomless. Firstly, there is a problem of brain development and what Manfred Spitzer called a digital dementia, basically how the early use and overuse of digital media changes neural pathways formed in the brain during growth (and that is not a good news), but that isn't the only thing. The mental and emotional strain and pressure on young people is huge. Take school bullying for example, before it ended at school, now it extends everywhere a kid goes. Followed by unrealistic images of self and society expectations (did you know there are some unwritten rules how to make selfie and any deviation from that might result in social ostracism?). The rate of suicide and suicide attempt among youngsters skyrocketed just around time, when smartphones and internet access became ubiquitous. Something to follow closely. Which is hard considering how parents are made to slave away for long hours in their works, without time or energy, and mostly, without awareness and proper tools to tackle the problem.
